This series  is inspired by a time of personal resolve, when
circumstances forced me to face up to the challenge of becoming who i want to be and living the life i want to live. the challenge
continues... not to stiff up but to wise up, not to glum up but to
free up.... not to grow up, but to glow up.

The process  for these paintings began with photographs i had enlarged and glued to canvas along with handmade paper using acrylic medium. i then selected subjects from my photography and painted them onto the backgrounds. the writings were chosen from notebooks i kept during the same period. these elements together communicate my own emotions during that time of inner isolation and self questioning.
